Former Auburn guard Thomas O’Reilly has transferred to Georgia Tech, enrolling Wednesday, the school confirmed. After sitting out a season, O’Reilly will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.

O’Reilly, from Pope High, chose Auburn over Tech coming out of high school. Before O’Reilly’s transfer decision became official, his father, Shaun, said that playing opportunities and scheme changes at Auburn, as well as academic interests, led him to leave. Auburn hired Scot Loeffler as its offensive coordinator in January to replace Gus Malzahn.

O’Reilly, 6-foot-3 and 325 pounds, is the first AJC Super 11 pick to enroll at Tech since A-back B.J. Bostic, a member of the 2009 Super 11 team.
