The Georgia Tech-Georgia baseball game, held Tuesday night at Tech’s Russ Chandler Stadium, was canceled due to lightning and rain.

The teams were called off the field shortly after 7:30 p.m. with lightning in the area. Fans were also asked to evacuate the stadium. With lightning continuing to strike in the area and rain falling, the game was finally called just before 9 p.m.

The game, the second in the three-game season series, was in a scoreless tie in the bottom of the second at the time of the delay.

There was no immediate decision on a make-up game. The teams are scheduled to play the season series finale May 12 at Turner Field. Tech beat Georgia in the first game of the series, 13-6 in Athens.
