The ACC released its conference schedule Wednesday, complete with dates, times and television assignments. If not favorable, it appears to at least be neutral in its treatment of Georgia Tech.

The league schedule is more balanced from a home-road perspective than last year, the ACC’s first season as a 15-team conference. Last year, the Jackets had a four-game home stand, a three-game home stand, one three-game stretch on the road and three different back-to-back road sets.

This season, Tech will play two consecutive home games once (Florida State and Clemson Feb. 14 and 16) and back-to-back road games once (at Pittsburgh and Virginia Jan. 17 and 22.). The Jackets will face an interesting six-game stretch in February in which they’ll play Saturday/Monday for three consecutive weeks.

The list of teams coming through McCamish Pavilion is impressive, touted on Tech’s website as perhaps the best home schedule ever. Georgia, Vanderbilt and Charlotte in the nonconference portion, followed by Syracuse, Notre Dame, N.C. State, Louisville and North Carolina in the league schedule, are among the highlights.

Much to the delight of the ticket office, the conference did not assign Tech any 8 or 9 p.m. starts for any home games. All night games start at 7 p.m. Including non-conference games, the Jackets will be on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU a minimum of 10 times, compared to eight such appearances last season.

The schedule does have a strong finishing run, with a road game at North Carolina Feb. 21, a home game against Louisville two nights later, a road game at rival Clemson Feb. 28 and finally a home game to end the regular season against the Tar Heels March 3.
