In response to an announcement from Austin Peay that he will be interviewing for its head coaching vacancy, Georgia Tech linebackers coach and recruiting coordinator Andy McCollum said that he will not be interviewing and does not have interest in the position. McCollum made the statement through a Tech spokesman.

Austin Peay issued a news release on its website earlier this week that McCollum, a graduate of the Clarksville, Tenn., school, was one of six candidates for the position and would interview Monday. McCollum has been at Tech since the 2010 season, first serving as recruiting coordinator and defensive line coach before switching to linebackers midway through the 2012 season as coach Paul Johnson shuffled the staff after the dismissal of defensive coordinator Al Groh.
