Georgia Tech’s recruiting class for 2019 grew by two Thursday, as Jalon Calhoun, a quarterback from Greenville, S.C., offered his commitment. Calhoun, who is being recruited as an athlete out of Southside High, followed the commitment announcement of Ahdarrious Gee, a linebacker from Crisp County.

Calhoun made his announcement on Twitter.

Calhoun had reported his scholarship offer from Tech on Wednesday. His most significant other offer had been from Penn State. Calhoun is a three-star prospect (247 Sports Composite) ranked No. 111 in the country among players listed with the “athlete” designation and No. 14 in the state of South Carolina. He reportedly threw for 2,226 yards and 20 touchdowns last season.

With Calhoun, Tech's class for 2019 is now at seven members. In a story by the State of Columbia, S.C., Calhoun's high-school coach said that college coaches were projecting him as a slot receiver or defensive back or return specialist.

Calhoun was recruited by new safeties coach Shiel Wood.
