Michael Eubank threw for 262 yards and a touchdown to lead Samford to a 21-18 victory over Mercer on Saturday in Birmingham, Ala.

The Bears (4-2, 1-2 Southern Conference) were held to 262 yards of offense, nearly 200 yards below their average, as their three-game winning streak ended.

John Russ threw for 148 yards and was picked off twice, and leading rusher Alex Lakes was held to 56 yards on 16 carries.

Russ scored on a 1-yard run to cut the Samford (3-2, 2-1) lead to 14-10 to 1:18 left before halftime, but the Bears didn’t score again until Chandler Curtis’ 99-yard punt return with 54 seconds remaining in the game.

West Georgia 26, West Alabama 17: Dallas Dickey ran for 135 yards, including a 62-yard touchdown run, and threw for two scores as the host Wolves remained undefeated.

West Georgia (5-0, 1-0 in the Gulf South Conference), ranked 24th in the American Football Coaches Association Poll, won in coach Will Hall’s first game against the program he coached the past three years. The 22nd-ranked Tigers fell to 3-2, 0-1.

Dickey, who was 10-of-12 for 86 yards, threw a 4-yard touchdown pass to Alex Macaulay and a 21-yard scoring completion to Brandon Lucas to give the Wolves a 13-10 halftime lead.

His scoring run extended the advantage to 23-10 with 4:07 left in the third quarter.

West Georgia hadn’t given up a touchdown in 13 quarters, but West Alabama ended that streak on Jabari Baker’s first-quarter scoring run.

Norfolk State 14, Savannah State 7: Tyler Clark ran for a touchdown and threw for another as the Spartans extended host Savannah State's losing streak to 14 games.

Leon Prunty threw for 239 yards and a 34-yard touchdown pass to Jeremiah Harris for Savannah State (0-5, 0-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference), but the Tigers were held to 13 yards rushing.

Reinhardt 61, Union (Ky.) 41: Ian McIntosh ran for 116 yards, and L.J. Stegall added 110 yards rushing to lead the host Eagles.

McIntosh ran for two scores, and Stegall ran for a touchdown as Reinhardt (3-3) scored eight touchdowns on the ground.
