Georgia Tech rallied with a pair of two-run home runs in the final two innings, and sophomore Daniel Spingola’s first career home run was a walk-off winner, as the host Yellow Jackets rallied to defeat The Citadel 5-4 on Tuesday afternoon.
Daniel Palka launched a two-run homer to right in the eighth to cut the Bulldogs’ lead to 4-3, and Spingola finished the rally with a line-drive shot over the wall in right in the ninth. The victory improved Tech to 19-5, while the Bulldogs fell to 15-10.
Spingola finished 2-for-4 and had an RBI double. Matt Gonzalez scored twice and had three hits. Kyle Wren also had two hits, extending his hit streak to 13 games.

Clemson 9, Georgia 1: The Bulldogs gave up 13 hits while losing to the visiting Tigers.
Georgia’s Hunter Cole was 3-for-4 with an RBI for Georgia (8-17). Teammate D.J. Smith also recorded a multi-hit game with a double and a single while scoring a run.
Steven Duggar of Clemson (16-8) was 3-for-5 with two RBIs, both coming on a home run in the first. Jon McGibbon of the Tigers was 2-for-4 with four RBIs.
Kennesaw State 6, Alabama State 2: The Owls scored three runs in the sixth inning and held on to defeat the visiting Hornets. Two errors by Alabama State (15-11) and a double by Jacob Bruce of Kennesaw State (15-10) produced the three runs.
Softball
Georgia State 1, Kennesaw State 0: Paige Nowacki hit the game-winning home run in the bottom of the sixth inning, and Katie Worley threw the second shutout of her career to lead the Panthers (19-8) past the visiting Owls (23-6).
Nowacki’s home run was her 12th of the season and the 32nd of her career. She tied Lauren Jones for the most home runs in program history.
