Fairytale football seasons for two Georgia colleges continued Sunday.
For the first time in school history, the University of West Georgia was named the top seed in the Super 2 Region for the 2015 NCAA Division II Playoffs, a release from the school said.
The Wolves have a first-round bye and will host a playoff game for the first time ever at University Stadium in Carrollton on Saturday, Nov. 28.
Coach Will Hall led the team to a 10-1 regular season in his second year at the school, the release said. The team won a share of Gulf South Conference title this season as well.
UWG will host the winner of Carson-Newman and Valdosta State in the second round.
Reinhardt University is playoff bound for the first time as a member of the NAIA FCS, according to a release from the school.
The Eagles finished 9-1 and in the top 16 of the final NAIA Top 25 poll, the release said. They will travel to Indiana to play St. Francis on Saturday, Nov. 22.
NAIA matches are determined using a mix of rankings and geography. The tournament is re-seeded after every round, the release said.
While only three years old, the program has posted a winning season every year so far but finished this year with nine wins and undefeated at home, which are both school records.
