Perkins feeling ‘great’ in return from leg injury

Sept 30, 2014

Whatever was bothering Georgia Tech A-back Charles Perkins is no longer affecting him. Since missing the Virginia Tech game with what was officially termed a lower-leg injury, Perkins said “it feels great” following the Yellow Jackets’ Monday practice in preparation for Saturday’s game against Miami. He had returned to practice during Tech’s open week last week.

Perkins is the team’s best perimeter blocker and has the team’s longest run from scrimmage this season, a 63-yarder. He had a 31-yard touchdown run against Miami a year ago. As for the nature of the injury?

“It was a mixture of things,” he said. “I don’t know. I can’t even call it what it was. A strained something.”
