Norcross High four-star forward Rayshaun Hammonds will attend Georgia. Hammonds, ranked the No. 38 player nationally by ESPN, had Georgia Tech among his four finalists. Memphis and Texas were the two others besides Georgia and Tech.

Hammonds made the announcement Thursday at Norcross. Hammonds, 6-foot-8 and 215 pounds, was also rated the No. 4 player in the state and the No. 7 small forward prospect nationally.

Tech coach Josh Pastner and his staff still await word on at least two other high-profile in-state prospects expected to make their college decisions during the early signing period, which began Wednesday and continues through Nov. 16. Pace Academy forward Wendell Carter and Pebblebrook High guard Collin Sexton are expected to make announcements during the signing period (Sexton’s is 6 p.m. Thursday on ESPNU), while it’s possible that Greenforest Christian Academy center Ikechukwu Obiagu may make an announcement, but could wait until the regular signing period in April.
