Morris not close to return

Feb 4, 2013

Georgia Tech guard Jason Morris’ return from plantar fasciitis is at least more than a week away. Morris, whose last game was the ACC opener against Miami Jan. 5, has missed the past seven games.

Coach Brian Gregory said prior to Monday’s practice that he hoped that Morris would do some light shooting Monday and Tuesday and rest Wednesday with the hope that his healing would progress to the point that he could start practice early next week.

Tech has two games next week, against Clemson at home next Thursday and at Wake Forest on Saturday.

Morris aggravated the injury against Miami, but an MRI showed that he did no additional damage. He was placed under doctor’s orders to rest the inflamed arch injury 2-3 weeks about three weeks ago.

Morris is averaging 5.2 points and 3.0 rebounds per game in 16 minutes per game.
