Morehouse lands 2 on Black College player of year watch list

Morehouse juniors Santo Dunn and Michael Sims have been named to the watch list for the 2019 Black College football player of the year.
Dunn, the 2018 SIAC offensive player of the year, and Sims are among 48 players on the watch list for the award presented each year to the top player from a historically black college or university (HBCU). Dunn led the SIAC in rushing yards and touchdowns in 2018 and has been named the conference's preseason offensive player of the year for 2019.
Sims passed for 1,826 yards with 14 touchdowns and only four interceptions for the Maroon Tigers in 2018.
Four player of the year finalists will be revealed Dec. 3 and the winner will receive the Deacon Jones Trophy at the Black College Football Hall of Fame induction ceremony Feb. 2020 in Atlanta.
Morehouse will kick off its 2019 schedule Sept. 1 vs. Alabama A&M in Canton, Ohio.
