Mason, Davis, Milton named players of the week

Georgia Tech right guard Shaquille Mason, linebacker Paul Davis and cornerback Chris Milton were named the team’s players of the week by coaches for their play in the Yellow Jackets’ 27-24 win over Virginia Tech.

Coach Paul Johnson said he thought that Mason, an All-ACC pick last season, “played one of his best games” as he helped the Jackets beat Virginia Tech for the first time since 2009. Davis had a career-high nine tackles and also returned an interception 41 yards for a touchdown, his first career interception and score. Milton blocked a field-goal try, his fifth career kick block. It was the first time Virginia Tech had had a field-goal try blocked since 2006.
