King's jaw fractured in LSU game

Oct 6, 2009

Georgia running back Caleb King fractured his jaw in Saturday's loss to LSU, coach Mark Richt said in his Tuesday morning press conference.

King, from Greater Atlanta Christian, also sustained a concussion in the hit, after which he continued to play. Richt said it is possible but unlikely that he will play against Tennessee Saturday in Knoxville. He would first have to be cleared by doctors for post-concussion symptoms.

"I think they would let him practice immediately with no contact and they might O.K. him to play as early as this week," Richt said. "I don’t think it's out of the question."

Richt said Richard Samuel will be the starter at running back.
