Kennesaw State loses assistant football coach

Kennesaw State assistant football coach Shane Bowen has resigned and accepted a job as an assistant defensive coach with the NFL’s Houston Texans.

Bowen was coach Brian Bohannon’s third hire and led the linebackers. He and Bohannon worked together at Georgia Tech. The Owls went 6-5 last year in their inaugural season.

Bowen was an outside linebacker at Georgia Tech before suffering a career-ending injury. He moved into a coaching role.
