Justin Seymour, recently of Murray State, announced on twitter that he is joining Georgia State’s men’s basketball team. A Georgia State spokesman declined to comment.

Seymour is a graduate transfer who will be immediately eligible for the 2016-17 season.

He will take the scholarship that was being reserved for Jeremiah Davis, who was going to transfer from Ball State to the Panthers. However, Davis won’t be joining the team.

Seymour, a 6-foot-3 guard from Atlanta who was a standout at Wheeler High, averaged 6.8 points in 29 games last season.

Seymour started his career at Utah in 2012-13 before transferring to the Racers, where he played three seasons.

The Panthers went 16-14 last season and returns Jeremy Hollowell, Austin Donaldson, Jeff Thomas, Jordan Session and Isaiah Dennis. The squad welcomes transfers Devin Mitchell from Alabama, Willie Clayton from Charlotte and freshmen D’Marcus Simonds and Chris Clerkley.
