Though he’s a freshman, Saturday’s game between Georgia Tech and Clemson won’t be Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson’s first visit to Tech’s campus.

Watson came to a couple Tech camps while at Gainesville High and made a considerable impression on coach Paul Johnson.

“He’s a good runner, elusive, and he’s a very accurate passer,” Johnson said. “He’s a gifted athlete.”

Watson will start for the Tigers after missing the past three games with a broken finger. Tech won’t plan differently for him as opposed to quarterback Cole Stoudt, Johnson said, but the Yellow Jackets are well aware of Watson’s playmaking ability.

“He’s a lot better runner (than Stoudt) and he’s more elusive, but I don’t think they’ll be doing a whole lot of different stuff,” Johnson said.
