Georgia at Vanderbilt
Time/TV: 12 p.m./CBS
Records: Georgia (4-2, 3-1 SEC), Vanderbilt (3-3, 0-3 SEC)
Series record: Georgia leads 54-18-2. Series has been played since 1893.
Last meeting: Georgia won 48-3 in 2012. The Bulldogs defense manhandled the Commodores, forcing 1 turnover and allowing just 15 first downs and 337 yards of total offense. UGA outgained Vandy 303 yards to 136 by the half.
About the Bulldogs: Already having claimed the SEC's career record for passing yards, Aaron Murray can set the league marks for total offense and touchdown passes against Vanderbilt. The Bulldogs could get a much-needed boost on offense with the possible return of injured running back Todd Gurley. Georgia linebacker Amarlo Herrera, a junior, ranks third in the SEC with 55 tackles and leads the Bulldogs with five pass breakups.
About the Commodores: James Franklin has coached Vanderbilt for three seasons, never having won over a ranked opponent. Wide receiver Jordan Matthews, who is on pace to break the SEC record for career receiving yards and career catches, leads the league with 47 catches. He's posted five 100-yard receiving games this season. The Commodores' defense has given up 35 or more points in all three SEC contests.
The skinny: The Commodores will make an appearance on CBS at home for the first time in more than a decade. A win over Georgia would be the first for Vanderbilt since 2006. The Bulldogs are an 8.5-point favorite.
