Georgia tops Alabama, faces S. Carolina next in SEC women’s tournament

March 5, 2020Jenna Staiti scored 20 points and Gabby Connally added 16 as Georgia defeated Alabama 68-61 Thursday in the second round of the SEC women’s basketball tournament in Greenville, S.C.
Staiti added 14 rebounds as Georgia (17-13) advanced to Friday’s quarterfinal matchup against top-seed South Carolina. Maya Caldwell had 10 points and five rebounds for Georgia while Jordan Lewis had 15 points to lead four players in double figures for Alabama (18-12).
