Georgia Tech will play St. John’s in a neutral-site event in Miami on December 1.
It is one of four non-conference games that Tech will play against high-major opponents in the 2018-19 season. The other three are at Tennessee November 13, at Northwestern November 28 in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge and at home against Georgia December 22. The Tennessee game is the last in a four-game series with the Volunteers.
The St. John’s game will be played at AmericanAirlines Arena as part of the four-game Hoophall Miami Invitational, which is sponsored by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. The other three games are Miami-Yale, N.C. State-Vanderbilt and Texas Tech-Memphis. ESPN will broadcast the games.
St. John’s was 16-17 last season and was No. 95 in RPI.
Tech and St. John’s have played nine games, most recently in November 2013, a St. John’s win. The Red Storm lead the series 5-4.
