Georgia State quarterback Nick Arbuckle is the Sun Belt Conference offensive player of the week after passing for 412 yards and totaled three touchdowns in last week’s 31-19 win at Ball State.
Arbuckle, a senior, leads the conference and is ninth in FBS with 326.8 passing yards per game. He is also the Sun Belt leader in total offense (317.3) and completion percentage (66.2).
Georgia State’s sports information department notes that Arbuckle is averaging 291.3 passing yards per game in 18 games with the Panthers. That is second among active FBS quarterbacks behind Cal’s Jared Goff.
The Panthers (2-4, 1-1) are off this week and will play at Arkansas State on Oct. 31.
Other notes from Georgia State:
Wide receiver Robert Davis is second in school history in receptions (125), yards (1,878) and touchdowns (nine). Albert Wilson, who scored his first professional touchdown for the Chiefs on Sunday, leads the category.
The Panthers have eight pass plays of at least least 50 yards this season:
• Donovan Harden (76 vs. Liberty, 57 vs. Liberty, 68 vs. Ball State);
• Davis (75 vs. Oregon, 61 vs. Liberty);

Joseph Peterson leads the Sun Belt with 10.7 tackles per game, which is 10th in FBS.
Wil Lutz leads the Sun Belt in punting (45.2 yards per kick).
