Georgia State waiting on permits for new S&C facility

May 20, 2015

Construction hasn’t started on Georgia State’s new strength and conditioning center because permits have yet to be approved.

The center will be approximately 7,000 square feet and will be built next to the football practice facility on MLK Drive SE. It has an expected cost of $600,000.

Georgia State hopes that the permits are approved by the end of the week. The goal is to have the center operational by Aug. 1.

While they wait on permits, there has been work done on finalizing what the interior of the building will look like, and the bidding process has started on supplying the strength and conditioning equipment. The cost of the equipment is expected to be around $300,000.
