Georgia State loses backup defensive lineman

March 24, 2014

Defensive tackle George Rogers is no longer on Georgia State’s football team.

Rogers posted on Facebook on Monday that he is back in Oklahoma.

Rogers signed with the Panthers in the 2013 class after two seasons at Northeast Oklahoma A&M junior college, where he had 92 tackles.

But Rogers, 6-3, 310 pounds, failed to make an impact at Georgia State. He played a few snaps in five games but wasn’t credited with a tackle.
