The invitation won’t be officially extended until 3 p.m. today, but it seems that Georgia State’s football team will play in the Cure Bowl in Orlando on Dec. 19.

The bowl game was secured following Georgia State’s 34-7 win over Georgia Southern on Saturday in Statesboro. The destination was seemingly set following South Alabama’s loss to Appalachian State Saturday night. The Jaguars were the only other Sun Belt team that could have reached six wins to become bowl eligibile.

Projections have the Panthers (6-6, 5-3) facing either Tulsa or Nevada in Orlando. It will be the first bowl game in Georgia State’s sixth year of playing the sport. Tulsa and Nevada went 6-6 this season.

The Cure Bowl has a 7 p.m. kickoff.
