Georgia State dismissed women’s basketball coach Sharon Baldwin on Wednesday.

The Panthers finished this season 8-22, 4-14 in the Sun Belt Conference. In eight seasons at GSU, Baldwin led the Panthers to a combined record of 88-152.

“I have a great deal of respect for Sharon and what she has meant to Georgia State,” athletic director Charlie Cobb said in a statement. “However, at this time we feel a change is necessary. I would like to thank Sharon and her staff for everything they have done for our program over the years and wish them all the best of luck in the future.”

Baldwin, who is from Smyrna, played two seasons at Kennesaw State before she transferred to Georgia and played two seasons for coach Andy Landers.
