Damian Swann wore a black cast on his right hand after Saturday’s game against Tennessee. The Bulldogs beat the Volunteers 35-32, aided significantly be a special teams play in which the senior cornerback downed a punt at the Tennessee 1-yard line.

However, Swann confirmed he broke his right thumb earlier during that game. He came out briefly during the second quarter but returned shortly after. With just over four minutes left in the game, Swann made the play on special teams that would set up a defensive touchdown. On the second play of Tennessee’s drive from the 1-yard line, defensive lineman Josh Dawson recovered a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown. Tennessee scored on its next drive but could not get another possession in time to win.

The thumb shouldn’t be an issue, as Swann is wearing a hard cast up to his mid-forearm. Nick Chubb carried the ball four times for 10 yards against Troy after undergoing surgery to his thumb the Monday before that game. He even scored a receiving touchdown on Saturday against Tennssee.
