Georgia Tech secured a commitment from an in-state linebacker Thursday, Ahdarrious Gee of Crisp County High. Gee, who was committed to South Carolina, but withdrew the pledge in February, chose Tech over Vanderbilt. He intends to enroll early.

Gee made his announcement through his Twitter account.

Gee is a three-star prospect rated the No. 33 inside linebacker in the country (247 Sports Composite) and the No. 88 player in the state of Georgia. He’s the sixth prospect to commit to Tech’s 2019 class and the first linebacker.

Gee, listed at 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds, was named the Region 1-AAA defensive player of the year last season. He was recruited by inside linebackers coach Andy McCollum.
