Chris Clerkley signs with Georgia State

Chris Clerkley, a 6-foot-9 forward, signed a letter of intent to attend Georgia State on Wednesday.
Clerkley averaged 6.6 points and 4.4 rebounds last season for Perry High School.
The Panthers also received a latter of intent from 6-foot-4 guard D'Marcus Simonds.
Coach Ron Hunter hopes to sign two more players in the spring to replace the four seniors who are leaving this year’s team.
The Panthers, the defending Sun Belt’s regular-season and tournament champs, open the season Friday hosting Middle Georgia State at the Sports Arena.
