Cakes, serenade for Johnson’s birthday

Aug 21, 2014Following practice, three birthday cakes awaited Georgia Tech coach Paul Johnson in the lobby of the football offices. Johnson turned 57 Wednesday. Conducted by quarterback Tim Byerly, the team sang to him following Wednesday’s practice and gave him the honor of breaking down the post-practice huddle.
The coach did not have big evening plans.
“Go home, get home probably about 8 o’clock, maybe go to bed early,” he said.
