Butker pounding kickoffs, misses field goal

Sept 6, 2014

Georgia Tech kicker Harrison Butker continued his pattern from the season opener, excelling on kickoffs but having difficulties on field-goal tries.

Butker extended his string of touchbacks to 10 with his second kickoff of the second half, including a few that went through the back of the end zone. He was 10-for-11 on touchbacks to that point, a third of his total from his freshman season.

However, Butker missed from 33 yards in the first quarter, following a miss from 31 yards last Saturday against Wofford. But, like last week, he made a field goal to end the half to give Tech the lead, this time from 46 yards. Holder Ryan Rodwell came through on the play, reaching high to bring down the snap and put it down for Butker.
