Come Saturday, senior cornerback Damian Swann will have faced four Florida quarterbacks in as many seasons.

Quarterback Treon Harris will get his first start for the Gators against Georgia. Swann and the Bulldogs’ defense have little film to reference when preparing for Harris, as the freshman appeared in just three games. Harris has thrown for 263 yards, three touchdowns and one interception and has rushed for 51 yards on 15 attempts for one touchdown.

“With the guys that we have up front, I really feel confident with any kind of quarterback back there,” Swann said. “I think with Leonard and Jordan and those guys on the inside, we’re able to do a good job up front to handle the quarterback runs to where we don’t really have to use an extra body to try to contain the quarterback.”

The Miami native will take over for redshirt junior Jeff Driskel, who has only played against Georgia once in his time with the Gators (2012). In 2013, Driskel broke his right leg against Tennessee in late September, ending his season.

This year, his absence from the starting lineup against Georgia comes after a decision by coach Will Muschamp to bump Harris up a spot on the depth chart after Driskel threw 10 interceptions in six games. Florida’s off to a 3-3 start, but the Bulldogs won’t underestimate what Harris may bring as a starter.

“That team is always going to have quality players,” Swann said. “They haven’t been able to get some wins that they normally would; they’ve been losing a lot of games at home that they normally don’t.”
