Georgia has entered into an agreement with Seton Hall University to play a home-and-home series beginning this December in Athens.

The institutions signed a contract on March 6 calling for the Pirates to come to Stegeman Coliseum for a game on Dec. 21. The Bulldogs agreed to return a trip to the Seton Hall campus in South Orange, N.J., sometime during the 2015-16 season.

Neither team will receive a payment for the game but there is a $75,000 damages clause should either team cancel of the game without mutual consent.

Georgia returns all but one player from its current team next season and is expected to play a more competitive non-conference schedule than it did this season. The Bulldogs are currently scheduled to open the season in the 2014 NIT Season Tipoff, with the second half of four games being played in New York. Those opponents have not been determined yet but Georgia is one of four regional hosts along with Gonzaga, Minnesota and St. Johns.

The Bulldogs in 2014 also have a return game coming from Colorado, a road game at Georgia Tech and a short road trip to Chattanooga in the away game of a two-for-one exchange with the Mocs.

The Pirates are 17-16 after knocking off No. 3 Villanova 64-63 in the Big East Tournament on Thursday. Five seniors will graduate off the team before next year’s game.
