Paris Bostick, a redshirt freshman linebacker out of Tampa, has decided to transfer from Georgia, according to an announcement from coach Mark Richt.

“After discussing the situation with Paris, we mutually agreed this is a good decision,” Richt said in a news release. “He has a positive future in football and we wish him all the best in attaining his goals in football and in education.”

The 6-foot-1, 217-pound Bostick signed with Georgia out of Tampa’s Plant High as a safety. He redshirted for the 2013 season after undergoing toe surgery late last summer. Despite a need for help at safety, the Bulldogs moved Bostick to inside linebacker during last season. He was third on the depth chart before suffering a hyperextended knee this past week.
