DeVONDRE SEYMOUR

Position, school: Offensive lineman, Hinds (Miss.) Junior College

Colleges: Signed with UGA in February 2013 out of North Gwinnett High School but did not meet NCAA academic requirements

Vitals: 6 feet 6, 315 pounds.

In the know: Seymour is the nephew and adopted son of Richard Seymour, the former NFL Pro Bowl defensive tackle who starred in college at UGA. The younger Seymour was a last-minute addition to UGA's 2013 class, but he was signed with the knowledge that he would likely have to attend a prep school or junior college to work on his academics.

They said it: "He's still learning (football) He never really played any football until he got here (North Gwinnett) as a sophomore. I think he played freshman football at a small school in South Carolina. When Richard moved into the area and brought DeVondre up to the office, Richard was very upfront and said, 'He really doesn't know any football. He's a project.' But DeVondre is learning pretty fast. He has great size. All the college scouts love his size, and they think he's pretty athletic for that kind of size. He's got long arms, and that's what you want at an offensive tackle," said North Gwinnett coach Bob Sphire.
