Monday night was one to remember. Well, maybe not if you’re a Georgia fan.
After going up 20-7 in the third quarter, Georgia gave up 13 unanswered points so Alabama could force overtime. Crimson Tide freshman quarterback – and now hero – Tua Tagovailoa won the game with a 41-yard touchdown pass, making Alabama the national champion for the fifth time in nine years.
Alabama fans celebrated, Georgia fans endured another excruciating heartbreak, and Georgia Tech fans had a few laughs.
Here are some Twitter reactions regarding what’s sure to go down as one of the best championships played:
Alabama:
Can only imagine what other college coaches are thinking right now, not only did Bama win another title, but they finally have a QB that can win games, instead of trying to manage them. #RollTide #TuaTime

Wonder if it would be cheaper at this point, for Nick Saban to install a Gatorade shower in his home.

Another stat....Since 1999, every player that Saban has recruited has won a National Championship! If you want a ring choose Bama and choose Saban. Amazing!

Nick Saban has won two of the last three championships and the only thing that barred him from all three was a historic college QB making a last-second throw on an arguably illegal passing concept. Incredible. https://t.co/F1ZF33fotK

And now. My opinions on last night. 1. Yes, the referees made some horrible calls and non calls that all seemingly went against UGA. Two that were game altering. The “offsides” on the blocked punt, and the fact that Bama’s receiver had a false start on that late TD.

Georgia Tech (extended version):
Friendly reminder that the last school from Georgia to win a national championship was Georgia Tech. 🤔🤔
