Former Georgia coach Mark Richt said "I really, really like it here" after his first game as Miami's coach Saturday night.

Scoring 70 points will do that for you.

The Hurricanes rolled over Florida A&M 70-3 in Miami Gardens, Fla.

Richt's team took a 28-3 lead into halftime, then scored a school-record 42 points in the third quarter.

"I'll just say this: I really, really like it here," said Richt, a 1982 Miami grad. "I like these players. I like this university. I like the vibe of the city. I'm very thankful to be here."

Richt spent 15 years as Georgia's coach. He compiled a 145-51 record but was fired in December. Kirby Smart was hired as the Bulldogs' coach and he led the team to a 33-24 win over North Carolina in their season opener Saturday night.

Under Richt, the Hurricanes' poll drought may be over.

Miami  last appeared in the AP Top 25 on Nov. 10, 2013 — 39 polls ago.

QB Brad Kaaya threw for four touchdowns and the Hurricanes had three running backs — Joe Yearby, Mark Walton and Gus Edwards — all top 100 yards, the first time a Miami trio has done that since 1987.

Miami scored touchdowns on 10 of its first 12 possessions and outgained FAMU 373-22 on the ground,  523-197 in total yards.
