University of Miami cornerback Thomas Finnie is facing two felony charges and was suspended indefinitely from the football team after his arrest Tuesday.

Finnie, a sophomore who started the first six games this season, was charged with occupied burglary and grand theft after he allegedly entered a dorm room last week and stole a laptop, according to a police report.

Finnie on Tuesday turned himself in to UM police, who said in the report that he admitted the crime. Finnie, who went to Miami Central High, was transported to the county’s Pre-Trial Detention Center and had not posted a $17,500 bond as of Tuesday afternoon.

This is not the first time Finnie, 21, has been in legal trouble this year. He was charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession July 20.

The laptop theft also allegedly involved a second man who was arrested last Wednesday after a campus-wide search. Del’Neco Streeter of Miami Beach was apprehended in a police sting. Investigators said he tried to sell the stolen laptop back to the victim.
