College football season is officially upon us, and several top area recruits are making primetime features.

The dual-threat quarterback enters his senior year as starter for the Tennessee Volunteers. Dobbs threw for 2,291 yards and 15 touchdowns last season.

The Milton native is on the horizon as a top first-round defensive pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. However, the question looms if Lawson can stay healthy after battling ACL and hip injuries the past two seasons.

The Buford native is looking to duplicate success from a dazzling 2015 season, when he took home Freshman All-American, Sun Belt Freshman of the Year and All-Sun Belt Conference honors. It is no surprise he is on the preseason watch list for the Biletnikoff Award.

The junior from Decatur played in all 12 games last season, booting four field goals from 40 yards and beyond. Butker finished the season with 7/11 FGM and a 63.6 percent completion rate.

Fromayon played in all 12 games for the Yellow Jackets last season. One of his goals during the offseason was lowering his body fat.

The brother of Pro-Bowl SS Eric Berry has emerged as one of the nation’s premiere college defensive backs. Berry’s explosive speed on kick-off returns landed him as a Walter Camp All-American. The Fairburn native now enters his junior year on a plethora of preseason national award watch lists.
