The College Football Hall of Fame held its enshrinement ceremony in Atlanta for the first time Wednesday night, officially welcoming a group of 24 former players and coaches into the sport’s shrine.
The group included former Falcons quarterback Steve Bartkowski, former Heisman Trophy winner Ty Detmer and four players who already are in the Pro Football Hall of Fame (Art Shell, Dave Casper, Art Monk and Jonathan Ogden).
The ceremony was held in a packed ballroom of the Omni Hotel at CNN Center, next door to the site of the Hall of Fame’s future home, which is under construction and scheduled to open in August 2014.
