Christo Landry won the men’s elite race at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race on Friday. He crossed the finish line in 28:22 (unofficial); the elite men’s record for the 10K road race is 27:04, set by Joseph Kimani (Kenya) in 1996.
Friday’s race marks the 45th running of the AJC Peachtree Road Race. This year’s Peachtree serves as the USA men’s and women’s 10K Championships.
Landry will collect $15,000 in prize money for finishing in first place.
