Former Georgia Tech kicker Harrison Butker was signed to the Kansas City Chiefs on Tuesday.

Butker was drafted in the seventh round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers, but was released on Sept. 13.

The Chiefs placed starting kicker Cairo Santos on injured reserve on Tuesday due to a groin injury.

Butker averaged 99 percent on extra points and 71.1 percent on field goals in four seasons at Georgia Tech.
