Andre Shinyashiki scored in the fourth minute of stoppage time in the second half to give the Colorado Rapids a 3-3 tie with the Portland Timbers in the coldest game in league history, The Oregonian reported.

It was 18 degrees at kickoff and it snowed throughout the match. The frigid match broke the previous mark of 19 degrees, set March 12, 2017, by Minnesota United, according to The Associated Press.

"It was a snowstorm," Timbers goalkeeper Jeff Attinella told the Oregonian. "You can't prepare for that. I think that was a once in a lifetime-type thing. I think everybody handled it really well and we should have won. We should have got three points, but we didn't."

The game was played before 12,717 fans at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, the newspaper reported.
