Gwinnett Braves pitcher Manny Barreda was named the International League’s Pitcher of the Week for his performance from Aug. 28-Sept. 4.

Barraeda went 1-1 and recorded a 0.00 ERA last week for the G-Braves.

The 28-year-old right-hander pitched the entire second game of a doubleheader against the Norfolk Tides on Aug. 30, but allowed four unearned runs (on four hits) in the G-Braves 4-3 loss. In the G-Braves’ 3-0 win over the Durham Bulls on Sept. 4, Barreda pitched seven innings and allowed two hits.

Barreda also recorded a league-best .130 opponent average in his two starts.

Since being signed as a minor-league free agent in December 2016, the Sahuarita, Ariz. native has started seven games with Gwinnett.

Barreda is the 20th Gwinnett pitcher to be named IL Pitcher of the Week and the third G-Brave this season after Lucas Simms (April 17-23) and Andrew Albers (July 10-16).
