The Braves did not get any help from the Dodgers this week and now they have to host them.

Los Angeles lost to the Phillies Tuesday and Wednesday, causing the Braves to lose ground to first-place Philadelphia in the NL East race.

The Braves (54-44), who were off Wednesday, trail the Phillies (57-44) by a game and a half.

The Phillies beat the NL West-leading Dodgers 7-3 Wednesday afternoon, only a few hours after outlasting the Dodgers 7-4 in 16 innings in a game that ended at 1:14 a.m.

The Braves open a four-game series with L.A. (56-46) Thursday night at SunTrust Park at 7:35 p.m.

Anibal Sanchez (5-2, 2.76) starts for the Braves against Dodgers left-hander Rich Hill (3-4, 4.26).
