Hawks coach Mike Woodson narrowly missed a chance to lead the Eastern Conference team in the NBA All-Star Game.

Orlando's victory over Detroit Sunday means Magic coach Stan Van Gundy will direct the East in the Feb. 14 game in Arlington, Texas.

Orlando (32-16) clinched the second-best record in the East through January, behind Cleveland (38-11). Cavaliers coach Mike Brown is not eligible for the honor this season because he coached the East in last year's game.

Atlanta is 30-16.

Two Hawks, Joe Johnson and Al Horford, have been selected to play in the game.
