It’s official. Taurean Prince is a Hawk.

The Hawks received word from the NBA on Monday that the three-team trade that, in part, returned the draft rights of Prince was officially completed.

Prince was the No. 12 overall selection by the Jazz at the request of the Hawks as part of the Jeff Teague trade. He has been with the Hawks at the Las Vegas Summer League but has sat on the bench in a polo shirt and shorts for the team’s opening two games.

The plan is for that to change on Monday. Prince is expected to be in uniform and play when the Hawks face the Nets at 4:30 p.m. (ET) in their final opening-round game.

The Hawks (2-0) will then move on to the seeded double-elimination portion of the tournament.

Asked this weekend if the wait to make his professional debut has been frustrating, Prince said: “Little bit. Helps with your patience.”
