Here are five things to know about the Hawks this week:
1. The misdemeanor driving under the influence case against coach Mike Budenholzer will be heard in Fulton County State Court on Tuesday. The nearly three-year-old case is on the docket for Judge Diane Bessen for Tuesday and Wednesday.
2. The NBA Draft will be held on Thursday. The Hawks currently hold three selections – Nos. 21, 44 and 54. The team will also host a draft party for fans at Philips Arena.
3. The Hawks will break ground on their $50 million practice facility with a ceremony on Friday morning. The location is Executive Park in Brookhaven. The facility, in a partnership with Emory, is scheduled to open in Oct. of 2017.
4. The Hawks have been given 50-to-1 odds to win the 2017 NBA Championship, according to odds released by Bovada Monday, one day after the Cavaliers won the 2016 title. The Hawks are tied with the Rockets behind the Warriors (2/1), Cavaliers (9/4), Spurs (15/2), Thunder (17/2), Clippers (20/1), Celtics (25/1), Raptors (25/1), Bulls (33/1) and Heat (33/1).
5. The Hawks will compete in the Las Vegas Summer League next month in a tournament that runs July 8-18. The schedule for the tournament could be released in the coming week.
