The Hawks will be without two starters when they play at the Nets Tuesday as Jeff Teague and Kent Bazemore did not travel with the team to New York. Both have ankle sprains.

Bazemore suffered a right ankle sprain late in the fourth quarter against the Jazz Sunday and had to be helped to the locker room. An X-ray taken at Philips Arena after the game was negative. Bazemore had a follow-up MRI and examination Monday at Peachtree Orthopadeic Clinic which confirmed the sprain. No timetable was given for his return of the Hawks starting small forward. Before the injury, Bazemore had scored 16 points, on 6 of 7 shooting, and had three rebounds, three assists and a steal.

Thabo Sefolsoha could start in place of Bazemore. The game against the Nets is the first of a road-home back-to-back with the Hawks hosting the Kings Wednesday. Sefolosha has been held out of back-to-back games this season due to right ankle rehabilitation following surgery last season. The Hawks early game notes listed the starter at small forward as TBD.

Teague suffered a left ankle sprain at the end of the first half against the Celtics on Friday and will miss a second straight game. The starting point guard played the second half and finished with six points, four rebounds and three assists. The injury kept Teague out of Sunday’s game against the Jazz and Dennis Schroder started in his place. Schroder will most likely start again against the Nets.

The Hawks injury report also continues to list Sefolosha, Kyle Korver (right ankle rehabilitation) and Mike Muscala (right ankle sprain) as probable.
