Hawks first-round draft pick Dennis Schroeder said on socail media that he has signed a contract with the Hawks.

“Its offical ! I signed the contract with the Atlanta Hawks !! Im Glad to be here :-) #ATL” the point guard tweeted Wednesday afternoon.

Schroeder, the 17th overall pick of the Hawks last month, is expected to participate for the Hawks in the Las Vegas Summer League. The team had to work through contractual issues with FIBA, basketball’s international governing body. The 20 year old played professionally in his native Germany before declaring for the draft. The Hawks team, already practicing in Las Vegas, opens summer league play Friday.

There was no official word of the signing from the Hawks. There is also no word on the status of fellow first-round pick Lucas Nogueira.

In other notes:

* Quin Snyder will initially coach the Hawks summer league team. The assistant will coach in place of Mike Budenholzer.

* The Hawks have yet to announce their roster. Known players who will participate for the Hawks are John Jenkins, Mike Scott, Shelvin Mack, Mike Muscala, Kyle Weems and Schroeder.
