Outspoken NFL player Richard Sherman called for the return of the Sonics, according to this video posted to Bleacher Report.
The SuperSonics started in Seattle in 1967 and played their final season in 2007-08.
“Still in my Sonics jacket. Still trying to bring the Sonics back. Come on NBA,” Sherman said in the video. “Looking at you.”
Sherman posted a photo wearing a Sonics jacket over social media on Saturday -- on his way to the 101 Awards in Kansas City.
Sherman is to be honored as the NFC Defensive Player of the Year, according to the awards' website.
